I recently found out my grandmother’s maiden name was Δελί In Greek, the word “deli” described someone who was: • fearless • wild • a daredevil • a little crazy in a brave way Someone who fought without fear. “Deliler” “the fearless ones.” were known for charging into battle first — Αλεξάκος On the other side of my family, the name Αλεξάκος (Alexakos) traces back to villages near Tripoli in Arcadia The name comes from Alexandros, meaning “defender of men.” Fearless ones.
