Essentially what it says, a loaf of mince. Add some chopped veg in there and stuff and bake it in the oven. (We use our air fryer on bake because it's so fast compared to the actual oven.)

It's ground beef mixed up with seasonings and mashed in to a loaf tin and a bottle of ketchup on top, not elegant ๐Ÿ˜‚. It's a classic comfort food, this recipe throws the veggies in for extra moisture and flavor and the ketchup gets a kick in the pants. Variations on a theme if you will.

They were filled to the tippy top. Each muffin tin has 12 holes, so 2 tins on a baking sheet 350 for 15 min

Use some bread or cracker crumbs and an egg to hold it all together. Just like for burgers or meatballs. Good luck and I hope you like it!!

One tip I'll share for the first time cooking a meatloaf though. Leave some room at the top of your cooking pan, don't fill it all the way. There will be moisture, and you want some room to prevent spillover into the oven. A baking tray underneath doesn't hurt either.

Go sparingly on it and taste often, I got carried away one time because measuring things is for noobs ๐Ÿ˜‚. I used maybe a tablespoon to about a cup of ketchup for these. I bet the A1 is yummy, I don't think I've ever bought A1 ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

It's a normal brown sauce, nice and tangy. Goes well with a meatloaf. I usually do 3:1 Ketchup:A1. I'm actually surprised I've never tried balsamic. I love both it & meatloaf ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿค” I'd say "traditionally" no, but you can do whatever you like. I'm not going to uhhhhh ackshually you on it. The ketchup on top kind of gets thick and the sugars from the tomatoes get kind of caramelized, so it changes the texture and taste of the ketchup a little. My uncle poured jarred spaghetti sauce on his ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

+1 again especially if you use a higher fat mince which is recommended for keeping it moist. I ground up an untrimmed chuck roast and these were great.

I know I've tasted it before, I think my dad always used to use it. Worth a try. I also had an Asian inspired meatloaf that had chopped up shiitakes, chinese five spice, and a hoisin and rice vinegar topping ๐Ÿซ„. I really should post these recipes on zapcooking since the meal plan service is going away in June ๐Ÿ˜ญโ˜น๏ธ
