I discovered Bitcoin in 2016 after receiving an absurd and arbitrary electoral fine in Brazil.
At the time I didn’t even speak English. Still, I moved my savings through a reputable exchange and secured them on a Ledger.
Since then, I’ve experienced multiple seizures of my fiat money through the banking system. Accounts blocked, funds taken.
But never once on the Bitcoin blockchain.
In 2020 I sold 1 BTC and bought a plot of land in a private condominium. I didn’t even register it yet, but the same system eventually found it — and today the property is blocked. 🔒
Bitcoin taught me something important:
what is truly yours is what you can actually control.
