🇬🇧 The UK has no DAO-specific legislation, and DAO treasuries fall into a significant regulatory gap. $13.4 billion sits across DAO treasuries globally — and much of it is being mis-reported. This JBBA research presents a compelling case: ➡️ Recognising undistributed governance tokens as DAO assets at market value is not faithful representation. In plain terms — the numbers don’t add up, and current accounting frameworks weren’t built for this. 📍The questions regulators and standard-setters need to explore: → Are governance tokens actually “assets held” by the DAO? → Does the entity have a right to — and control over — the item? → Are treasuries being reported fairly, or inflated? These questions have real implications for investors, token holders, and policymakers. 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 UK and US Regulators Divided Over Crypto Cooperation British and U.S. regulators are reportedly divided over how to advance cooperation on digital assets through their joint Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future. While both sides broadly support closer alignment on stablecoin rules, disagreements have emerged over how to test tokenised securities. UK regulators favour using a regulatory sandbox to trial blockchain-based securities, whereas U.S. officials have expressed concern that sandbox approaches could limit innovation or discourage commercial participation.
