Morning Reflection (Stoic)
The Stoics practiced morning reflection—anticipating the day and setting intention. We can include gratitude: we name what we're thankful for before the day begins. We're not waiting for good things to happen; we're already acknowledging the good that exists. Gratitude in the morning sets the tone. We meet the day with eyes open to gift.
"When you wake in the morning, say to yourself: I will meet the busybody, the ungrateful, the arrogant."
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations V 1
