After birthing babies at my place, bossing gates at the farm and installing (closed circuit, local storage) security cameras at my elderly aunt’s place yesterday, I’m quite exhausted. Still so much to be thankful for. The two new #nubian #dairygoats came just in time to bulk up a little before the possibility of snow Saturday (again 🥲 which I’m quite tired of Grandpa!). The #blackangus beauties are growing up quite nicely (check out that brisket!) & becoming a bit more friendly. And increasing my aunt’s sovereignty really brings me of peace of mind. Maya & Ander have made their arrival 🎂🎈🐐! In true ‘Doe Code’ fashion mom drops them right before the first great freeze of ‘26 🙄. But she is good mom & for that I am grateful. Two huge, healthy kids. One 9lb girl and 8.5lb boy. I am ecstatic to have a doeling 🥳🙌🎀. We had quite a Hay Day on the farm today! Lots of guiding and shuffling and shifting gears 🚜. The Boss Lady borrowed a big ass forklift from the neighbor and that thing did work son 💪. We had to opt for a new Canadian, Timothy / Orchard, blend and we threw in two pallets Alfalfa for the dairy goats. 🥛. 22 pallets total! GM nostr. We’re at this week’s halfway point! Yesterday I started a new local weekly women’s Bible study. As I spend all of my days willingly isolated on the farm, it gets lonely often. Being at Bible study makes me feel more apart of a village & ‘if you want a village you’ve got be an active member’ or something like that, yada yada… It wasn’t easy to show up alone, but they graciously welcomed me even before I was a believer some years ago. (Yes, I was that desperate for human interaction some years ago that I went to Bible study as a non-believer). And it’s not easy to walk away from my farm projects to spend time doing something that only benefits my soul. It feels selfish, but I’m beginning to learn this is necessary for me. GM Nostr! Get a milk goat they said 🐐🥛… The countdown is on. T minus 30 days until we’ve got baby goat on the ground!! This time is equally exciting and scary for me. I am a sensitive soul and while I am WELL within my means to care for my goats, that doesn’t seem to ease my worry about something going wrong. I am prepared beyond measure, still anxiety… I strive to be the best keeper of them I can. So I’m out here 30 days before delivery helping keep them healthy as possible. This will only be my 4th and 5th delivery (3rd season) and while I’m not as afraid as the first time, fear still lingers. Yesterday I finished the book of Job in which God reminds Job, though the animals are in his dominion they ultimately belong to the creator. I see many of my near future prayers being for #hopelikejob. #homesteading #rawmilk #nubiangoat

Spent Saturday in the saddle with Mrs. Boss Lady at the farm. It was warm (our area hit an all time high record 🥲) so we went early in the morning. When the frogs in the bog were still singing as the bright sun peaked through the tops of the pines. Turning 35 today 🎂! The last five years flew by while I was deep in self-healing by isolating in nature, finding God, and using every free resource I could find to grow. My birthday always got sidelined growing up (one of six kids, two weeks after Christmas). But, as an adult, I see all the free ways they could’ve made me feel special. So I heal another piece of my inner child today: bought myself the saxophone I lost when our home was foreclosed in ‘08. Most of my childhood things are gone—mom’s alcoholism and an abusive marriage left scars (I was spared physically, but the hurt was real). My journey is not over! I’m not where I want to be, but I have far surpassed my goal from five years ago. My greatest gifts are that God lights my path and my husband @BTCJon21 never gives up on me ❤️. Today and until I decide to put it down again, I’ll play for fun and make a ‘joyful noise for Jesus’, the little girl I once was, and the woman I am today.
