Is there a market for a self hosted “Google” search?
For example you could have a dedicated box that just has an index of some subset of the internet and therefore entirely private to query.
One way to do this in an oversimplified way is to for a central service to generate an index each day and push it to edge devices. Updates could just be diffs to reduce network traffic.
Maybe set that service up as a Nostr DVM? Is there a NIP for search indexes yet 😅? Different npubs could offer different niche indexes and you could view the internet through a more personally curated lens than what Google and Meta force feed the majority of us.
The clowns at google are again trying to force me to log in just to watch regular videos.
Last time this lasted two weeks before I could watch in incognito on my VPN again and in that time I touched so much grass.
Weather is getting nicer now so timing is perfect. Thanks for the forced timeout from screentime Google!
@OpnState warned us that FATF was working on this months ago on the @Stephan Livera podcast. It’s happening. We can also fully expect our beloved tools like Electrum to come under attack any day now.
Keep building, anon. The politicians only know how to do the wrong thing. Don’t expect them to help.
