None of them are trying to enforce a soft fork. Bip 110 has automatic activation at 55% signalling or after 6 months. What do you think happens in the days after when there is percentage point support.

They most be governed / guided by/ constrained by higher philosophy and principles. And even governed by the accountability to the citizenry / plebs. Just like elite soldiers - some can be good or bad actors. Some can do good through restraint. Some do a lot of damage through exercising their skills. The most elite soldiers aren’t gods, they shouldn’t just take and use power to wield on the weaker citizens - because they can - should they? Even if they agree amongst themselves… That’s how failed civilizations work.

personally, i think bitcoin is now on a downward trajectory. it was compromised by segwit, then taproot, and soon, bitvm and covenants. it will be effectively ethereum by under 3 halving cycles. we need a new thing. bitcoin will be one of the spores, and nostr another. obsoleting money, which you may read incorrectly as socialism, will be possible with what inherits its former title as there is no second best. protocol politics is the root of the problem. the cure, is decentralised, emergent intelligence that assists people find optimal trades that resolve the barter problem without introducing a new lever.
