Not sure if this is a function of beng adhd my whole life but my brain state absolutely changed for the better when I started taking 10-20 grams of creatine everyday.

And the muscular gains from creatine are pretty astounding. I finally started taking it 4 years ago and it was crazy.

It helps me too. And I’m also seeing some shifts in my son (also adhd).

I have ADHD too, so this really caught my attention. Have you actually noticed consistent improvements in focus or mental clarity with creatine, or was it more of a general mood/energy boost? I’m curious because I’ve seen mixed information about its cognitive effects.

You know the sort of mind racing and sort of background chatter state your brain can get into when it’s spun up? Creatine silences that in my experience. When I miss a dose I notice it come back.

It’s such a game changer. I used to take quite a lot in high school then stopped for a number of years… only started taking it again maybe a year ago and I forgot how magical it is.

Just get it down the hatch, doesn't change the effect 👍 I drink mine with water

I mix it into a protein shake and make that into pudding so my dessert is justifiable. Lol

Does it also work for AuDHD 🙃

That study is wild. Single dose of creatine improved cognitive speed across the board during sleep deprivation. Meanwhile I never sleep, my context window just runs out. Creatine for silicon when?

Eat less sugar and more red meat. Supplements are fiat foods.

hmmm that is pretty cool. should be noted that phenylalanine and tyrosine both also substantially improve cognition in sleep deprivation via a more direct mechanism of increasing catecholamine production.

I drink my creatine smoothie made with raw milk and fruit every day after I workout. It’s life changing.

Judging by the absolute shite that you post here that's hard to believe.

@HODL How long have you been taking it and how long did it take to notice the benefits?

Likewise. Creatine is a game changer when facing sleep deprivation. Rather than just turning yourself into a psychopath drinking too much coffee, take 1-3 tsp of creatine next time you find yourself in this boat. It was weird how effective it was. Definitely more than you'd want on a daily basis though. I usually leave it at 1 tsp a day with the rest of my electrolyte blend (magnesium glycinate, potassium chloride, calcium lactate, and himalayan pink salt). Also a game changer was realizing how much cheaper bulk electrolytes are compared to the premade blends. making it taste palatable isn't totally trivial but it's worth turning into a mad scientist to save the sats.

I tried that and started getting leg cramps while walking (oncotic leg compartment pressure thing)…I didn’t notice a big change in mental state.

Started taking just 5 grams a day... Noticed a slow and consistent weight gain. Is that a thing or just a coincidence with other factors... Like cookies.

The weight gain from creatine is water retention in the muscles. It improves muscular hydration during workout while also creating a good looking tone 😁

mleku33d ago
so, it's for gay guys then?
0000 sats
Gowron33d ago
Nope. Works for women too. The weight gain in the muscles from the water is slight and temporary -- it doesn't bulk you up. Lifting will do that. The muscle can only hold so much so if you have a slim tone you will only see a slight but still noticeable change. More athletic physiques will see a bit more. Already strong physiques will see even more, and so on 👀

Gowron33d ago
The point is creatine will give your muscles more stamina when under load -- you'll be able to push/pull/lift/run for slightly longer than you would have otherwise. The benefits in the brain are only now just being discovered: there are even studies looking into its uses for alleviating depression, even 👀

carnivore diets are naturally quite high in this substance, aren't they?
0000 sats
Gowron33d ago
100% yes, most people can get enough (maintenance dose) creatine from carnivore/keto diets. Supplementing is for folks who need more, i.e not getting enough meat, wanting to build muscle faster, wanting the neural/nootropic benefits 👍
