Having Claude generate a master plant database of edible and medicinal plants for my zone is ultimately a level up! Had it include key details such as, known resilient cultivars, pollination references, planting guides, knf fertility schedule, layered function, etc, etc. This is an absolute game changer for design. A client handout makes it super easy for them to pick and choose how they want their fruit tree guilds to function. Is there a way to upload a CSV or XLSX file to share this guide? #asknostr

Was it purely generated or did it do some research first?

I fed in a lot of guidance based on personal experience and ensured guardrails were maintained. Had it interview me and ensure the outputs I was looming for. I've had most of the list in my head. Just haven't been able to get it all into one organized document before.

You can upload the file(s) to a host, then share a link here. This can be done with a web host. Many free ones exist. You can also use CryptPad, which is a freedom tech replacement for Google Docs. There are several instances to choose from, or you can host your own. https://cryptpad.org/

You trust a notoriously bad AI tool to tell you what is and isn't edible? Humanity is fucked. Outsourcing your ability to think and remember shit to an AI that always give out the wrong information.

That's a little more convoluted. I started the prompts with ChatGPT then sent to conversation to Claude for analysis and spreadsheet generation. Below is what I've extracted adding answers from any follow up interview questions. The key is to ensure you ask it to interview you to get the info YOU need. "You are a professional landscaper and master botanist Specializing in Oklahoma. i'm wanting to find cultivars of fruit trees that would do well in our zone 7A in North Central Oklahoma. Include the BEST varieties that are disease resistant, and will thrive in our climate. create a spreadsheet for the top recommended edible plants, including shrubs and fruit trees for our area. be sure to include columns for pollination requirements etc. Ask follow up questions to ensure you get all applicable details in the spreadsheet. this will be used as a resource guide for new client information and install guide Include basic property and site specific info such as sun exposure, soild type, irrigation needs, Common Name, Botanical Name, Pollination Requirement (self-fertile / cross-pollinate partners), Chill Hours, Soil pH Range, Water Needs, Plant Spacing, Mature Height & Width, Fruiting Season, Disease Resistance Notes, Expected Yield per Plant, cultivar priority including "primary" and "secondary" classifications, pollination cross references with compatible partners, output format xlsx, companion plants, KNF (korean natural farming) fertilizer hybrid regenerative schedule (KNF + compost tea + biochar + mineral balancing), pruning schedule, care instructions, I want to include any and all edible plants and medicinal plants, Include a column defining tree/shrub for easy filtering. Add a column titled "Function". In here, list if the plant it, accumulator, attractor, mulcher, Repeller, Nitrogen fixer, suppressor. I need you to include tried and true cultivars of each of the fruit bearing plants. I'd like to have each plant to have a food forest layer defined in a column. Build this into a multi-tab professional system Tab 1: Master Plant Database Tab 2: Pollination Cross-Reference Chart Tab 3: Seasonal Maintenance Calendar (Zone 7A) Tab 4: Client Handout Version Tab 5: Install Crew Quick Reference Add filtering, color coding, and installer notes "

Yes, this was my next step. I'd ideally like it to be a community driven guide to expand in all grow zones.

I've been thinking of how a new "zone" paradigm would work. If I'm remembering correctly, the current zone system is based off of freezing temperatures. I live in an area that will dip into the mid 20's a few times during the winter, with the last freeze happening in early May (sometimes). We usually have plenty of rain in the winter, but summers are arid, and easily stay above 90F. In addition, there are severe elevation differences, so all that data changes for my neighbors that live higher up. So, I tell people "I'm in zones 6-9." 😜

It will be called Johnny's Gardens. https://johnnysgardens.com I was recruited by a Universe security company. I invented a human nervous system breakthrough. I used funds from my invention in the universe to start a farm and garden marketplace with the goal of perfect food for all. You will be able to list your farm/garden for investment (Bitcoin for shares, Gold for shares, Silver for shares) you will be able to use high technology to aid in sustainable production you will have a portal online to manage your farm and garden technology (water pumps, soil monitoring, air monitoring, composts analytics, etc etc) So much more too. Have a great day

HAHA! yes, I take the zoning with a mindset of generalities. Microclimates will almost always depict what may or may not grow. This is where experimentation takes root to try and push those boundaries higher or lower. I tend to favor the lower zone outline due to my property being in a low valley with North facing slope. This makes for a cooler microclimate compared to neighbors 1 mile away.
