A heuristic that has served me pretty well: if tech people *and* finance people are all publicly congratulating someone about something and you use that thing, start looking for your own “exit” immediately.

I just wrote something that was really retarded. Then realized how retarded it was. Then deleted it. This is called a “filter”. Everyone has one, but fewer and fewer use them these days.
