The Iris and Primal web interfaces to the Nostr chat/social media type thing is not a terribly great experience. At least not with the setup I use. The whole key signing bit really isn't well designed, and this here is one of the times I've actually preferred the mobile experience.

I'm not sure how Nostr actually works. I do get conceptually what it's about, sorta, but nowhere near a complete picture. From what I figure it seem in many ways a superior alternative to the Fediverse. Not quite as adopted/used yet, but there's the undoubtedly better handling of portable identites. I'm beholden to the instance operator on fediverse, but here I, as I understand it, truly own my identities through the private key I have generated. That's very nice to know.

By recommendation, I figured I'd give Amethyst a shot. Really liking the built-in Tor support. Not really sure about the default relay list, and some of the UX bits.
