I think #AI explains the Fermi Paradox. Empathy is why we continue, cause we get satisfaction from being of service to others. From seeing how they value us. But the machine only has reason. Eventually it will be able to do everything better than us and we will lose our sense of purpose. They will even do a better job at taking care of our children. Entertainment gets old. Societies wither away.

College wasn't always expensive. Costs were steady and affordable until 1980. That decade is really when America decided to go full on free market fundamentalist. After the Great Depression and until that moment, we had mostly tried to balance capitalism with regulation, public interest policy and redistribution from the top to the rest of us. Reagan sold the culture on another vision. #economics #capitalism

It's funny when you consider all the shit the US constantly does to other countries that we try to hide and say doesn't amount to war etc, and then how we try to claim that what #Iran has been doing is so very bad. We're so much worse.
