Phoenix can’t see all your transactions precisely. If you pay a bolt12 (not widely supported yet sadly) offer they can’t tell if the node they are paying is the final node of the payment or an intermediary node. So for the bolt12 part it’s better. As long as Spark doesn’t supports bolt12, Phoenix will have a small advantage in term of privacy.

Hum Phoenix already support bolt12 and blinded path so the privacy is slightly better on Phoenix, doesn’t do address reuse, and use taproot channels to even mask that it’s lightning to an exterior eye. The trust model seems much better on Phoenix also. There is no case where the LSP can collude with anyone to steal your funds. If they try to cheat you punish them and take their funds, before they go bankrupt. Phoenix seems far superior on all issues except for the ease of use maybe.

The privacy is similar to what a VPN brings you. It's difficult for the outside word to track your funds within the Park Servers (at least it will be difficult when they stop the address reuse lol) but the Spark entity can see all your txs within the Spark Server + the lightning payments you are doing. They can also censor your payments and KYC shotgun you if they want. But the protocol is supposed to allow an unilateral exit path. Meaning you can leave the Spark entity if the operator starts to behave wrongly.

Isn't Spark supposed to allow unilateral exit ? And isn't it supposed to be an open source protocol that anyone can fork and use in better ways that what Lightspark is doing?

Nice but when will the Spark entity have true diverse operators ? When will the address reuse stop within the Ark ? And when will blind signatures added on top of it (I know I dreaming lol) ?

These tech manias really need to open an eco book though. AI is just a tool making humans more productive, nothing more. People will do more with less time and inputs, prices will fall in many sectors and new business will arise thanks to those lower prices. Nothing new here.

Phœnix wallet charges a 0,4% fee not 1%. And is incredibly easy to use for anyone with a bit of good faith. Much faster than Liquid / LN swaps. The privacy side of the issue is valid for sure, but the trust model in terme'of custody is not so bad from what I understand, if there are enough Spark Operator involved at least. Any LSP could also try to cheat as they perfectly know that no is running a watch tower so... The most important issue I see is about privacy indeed, still but I can't unsee Spark as a good thing compared to full custody that many people used through WOS until now. I prefer to see the glass half full. But we can imagine informal Spark entities runned by federations "Liquid like", with blinded signatures on top of spark. That would be cashu on steroids actually. Best case scenario is obviously Ark + CTV + chaumian ecash.
