Because from what I understand of it, in it's current form, it's a convoluted hokey mess. I also don't trust those who have been pushing/coding it. I don't see how ecash is a solution to lightning being retarded. This just seems like exponential retardation, and that's a recipe for really bad things to happen. That's the thing: I am not technically competent enough to run my own node and I WILL screw things up. Plus, I only use lightning for zapping, so running my own node is a waste of my life.
