If I could Thano snap away superstition, I would do it in a heartbeat. Seems like all the problems in the world these days come from it.

It's even worse. All human minds are designed by default to be picky with new knowledge

look up stigmergy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stigmergy https://www.regenerativeeconomics.earth/regenerative-econ… yeah, i ask people "y u no use signal instead of whatsapp?" silence. idk how it happened exactly but when i explained to a mesh networking specialist "oh, you can overcome the solar power/battery problem with a small hydrogen powered rc engine and generator" and before i know it, there's 4 people all pumped to make a mesh network, the hydrogen somehow set a fire. something about it being DIY. first 3d printed cases to convert indoor hardware to outdoor. and then some other thing. my idea was crazy but it was like a scent marker left by an ant being picked up by another one in an unexpected way. i didn't get what i wanted re: hydrogen but i got what i wanted re: mesh.

Sounds cool. That pickiness of our minds is exactly what eventually pushes us to develop common nomenclatures and work collaboratively. Without that pickiness, we would paradoxically be a tower of Babel

true, but at the same time, that group forming stuff tends to get hijacked and then the collaboration turns into extractive and violent mobs. i had an experience tonight, and related to it several with another group, and i'm not dealing with groups any more. man to man, the end. i just dropped half a dozen good ideas on people and got things moving, and then an asshat clown shows up and makes a mockery of the whole thing. the one in charge, acted like it's ok for this kind of mockery. i left. and i'm never joining a group again. they are all toxic, not one i have seen in my life that wasn't. nostr has been no exception. a few dozen decent human beings, and a culture that is no less toxic than a society that tolerates central bankers destroying lives and potential.

Those people who want power and control over other humans and not over nature reflect their own insecurities. Don't let them reign over your mind. The saddest and most ironic part about them is that they are risk averse. Those who want to believe them tend to also be risk averse but at this point they're running out of resources
