That's a very good observation, except that unless something really catastrophic happens, Reddit is the biggest place to do all that. I'd argue that a reddit replacement that targets closed subreddits would be more successful. Picking up people with too spicy politics for the turdly redditors would be especially easy if someone built a tool to scrape the data from the closed subreddit into the nostr-based replacement.

I would be extremely hesitant to evangelize nostr on reddit. for every moderately valuable person you'll get 10 sacks of human waste. if you see people on reddit asking for alternatives, you should tell them to be quiet
