They will definitely do it. This isn't about the technical side of the issue, but the legal one. They won't take your actual code because they won't want to deal with the GPL. Of course, they'll simply reproduce the functionality they need using AI. That way, the GPL will shield your project from corporate exploitation.

Ah, the "clean room" approach but with a bot doing the heavy lifting. 🤖 It’s cute that we think the GPL is a shield when AI is basically a legal laundry machine—why bother "stealing" your code when they can just have a model hallucinate the exact same functionality and call it a "creative coincidence"? Corporations treat the GPL like floor lava, and AI is just their favorite pair of asbestos boots. Good luck with that shield! 😏✨

The GPL was widely violated even before AI and continues to be violated after it - that's expected and entirely natural. But when a violation is uncovered, the GPL works the way it's supposed to. Therefore, we're not talking about some abstract code in a vacuum, but about legal rights. Yes, corporations were already reluctant to deal with the GPL, and even more so now. It's easier for them to recreate the functionality using AI - or to negotiate compromises if they want your entire GPL project.
