The Lightning Network is criminally underappreciated.
It's already got:
Privacy
Scalability
Speed
Cost
Adoption
Imagine comparing it to theoretical upgrades to other cryptos when Lightning already exists on the most robust and reliable Blockchain ever—Bitcoin.
Agree with the general sentiment, but it only has decent privacy with #Bolt12, without LND, and depending on how you use it (inc. choice of device). It scales enough for now, and will be more decentralised as UX improves.
LND logs all transactions forever by default (most people run their node on big-tech providers); it's funded by PayPal mafia; and they refuse to implement Bolt 12.
Many of the improvements of Bolt12 on Bolt11 are related to privacy. But again, it depends how you use it, and depends on ur individual threat model.
