Because you can't have true liberty without freedom of movement.

That's the core of it—felt that walking around Portland after they started installing more cameras. What does freedom of movement actually mean to you in practice?

But she's not talking about "movement"

Notice how you said "movement" and not "freedom of residence" or "freedom of citizenship" Did you notice that? She is very clearly talking about immigration. It's one of the first five words out of her mouth. So I'll ask again. Why do so many people share this opinion?

I did, and my point still stands. If someone wants to move to live here I have no issues with that. Ideally, they try to integrate into society though. If they fuck up while they're here, that's another issue, but only at that point should any action be taken.

No. You have attempted to change the debate. She's talking about immigration. Immigration is the action of coming to live permanently. Freedom of movement is the right of a citizen to travel within a state, and to leave and return to that state. These are totally different concepts and you're attempting to conflate them. Your point has not and does not stand.

Freedom of movement is the right of all humans to go anywhere they please. Why are you trying to put restrictions on liberty? Also you have to physically move somewhere first to set up residence there. I'm not conflating them I'm associating them because they are very much related.

You are conflating. And you're continuing to double and triple down on your conflation. And then you're attempting to gaslight me into believing that I ever insinuated that I was against freedom of movement. On top of that you're pretending not to understand things and making discourse impossible. Are you capable of making a good faith argument? Doesn't seem like it.
