What happened to us maxis? Very simple: we have enough BTC to live our lives, we got lazy, we don't develop anymore, and our tools got in the hands of nocoiners, newcoiners, shitcoiners and stablecraps morons. If we don't wake up and restart working on developing our tools, this thing will continue to happen. #shitcoins #alby 📝 0db01f1a…

We should just fork Alby Hub and remove all the crap of shitcoins and stablecoins.

So you don't like swaps and onramps? I really like to understand, because Alby Hub's goal is to make it easy for anybody to get on bitcoin lightning and to use it. Onramps is one of the main problems most people mention.

Alby is a Bitcoin and a Nostr signer. I think including stablecraps and other shitcoins is a very bad idea. If a nocoiner wants to get Bitcoin, it is sufficient that you put a link to some decentralized exchange, like Robosats. A nocoiner doesn't need to be presented to the posibility of scam coins like tether. And the worst part: this is a step forward into tether-lightning, a disastrous idea that could kill Bitcoin adoption and lead nocoiners to the fiat trap. Also, the idea of a "maxi button" is laughting to our faces. You can't hide bad ideas and principles by just hiding them from the user interface. And it says a lot about you. Not good things.

I slightly disagree. Having stablecoins minted on Bitcoin via protocols like Taproot Assets or RGB, which are native to Bitcoin, will actually benefit the Bitcoin Network in both the short and long term. Most important reason is human psychology. The transition for any small business owner to start accepting stablecoin payments as an alternative to traditional card payments is way easier to achieve than having to start accepting bitcoin directly. The step from stablecoin payment acceptance to direct bitcoin payments acceptance is the logical next step. And even if they don't eventually start accepting direct bitcoin payments, they are using bitcoin as the settlement layer without even knowing it. It will therefore enable more and easier bitcoin acceptance by merchants, create more revenue for lightning channels and it's node runners, create more revenue for the miners, create more bitcoin awareness, and more adoption of bitcoin, etc. This will enable true Bitcoin businesses (including node runners) to grow, which in turns creates less dependency on fiat.

Funny compilation 😂. Personally I completely agree that there is nothing better than Bitcoin. Both as a store of value and as a medium of exchange. In practice I however notice that bitcoin is only still accepted by a very small number of merchants currently. And if you can't pay with bitcoin it is now often converted to fiat to enable day to payments. It has proven really difficult to convince merchants like supermarkets, gasoline stations, etc. to start accepting bitcoin. They simply don't understand, and if they slightly do, their conclusion is that bitcoin as an asset is too volatile. They want price stability. That is where stablecoins come in. With protocols like taproot assets these can be minted on the best blockchain which is Bitcoin. No need for Ethereum, Solana or any other 'shitcoin' blockchain.

I live only using Bitcoin from 2018 when I closed all the fiat bank accounts. So please don't tell me I cannot pay with Bitcoin whatever I want. Stablecoins are the worst evil. Are pure fiat. Stability is just a mumbo jumbo invented by fiat maxis like you. So please...

So you are saying that you are able to pay with bitcoin at your local supermarket, order food at any restaurant, pay for everything when you are on holiday, etc. Who are you trying to fool? You now that it is complete BS what you are saying. Not even in countries with a high level of bitcoin like El Salvador every merchant accepts it. I would love to live in a world where I could do everything with Bitcoin. Fact is that it is simply NOT possible currently. Especially if you run a business. Taxes cannot be paid in Bitcoin. The world is still largely dependent on fiat. We might not like it, but it is a fact.

>Taxes cannot be paid in Bitcoin. LOL now you demonstrate that you are a fucking idiot. Bitcoiners DO NOT PAY TAXES. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT? Only fiat maxis slaves pay taxes.

So you are telling me that you would actually advise business owners to only accept bitcoin from their customers (also those that don't know anything about it), pay all their suppliers in bitcoin, and more importantly NOT pay their taxes anymore. Because hey, Bitcoiners don't pay tax. And if you do you are an idiot. Amazing! What kind of bullshit logic is that? Yes, Bitcoin is the best form of money ever invented. But no one pays their taxes for fun, it is a legal obligation. You can not run a legit business without that. Not paying taxes is a criminal offence. Anyway, coming back to the main discussion point. I still haven't heard any valid argument from you why stablecoins are not acceptable, but e-cash and even side chains like Spark are.

God was anarchist: 1 Samuel 8:11-18 (ESV) 11 He said, "These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen and to run before his chariots. 12 And he will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and some to plow his ground and to reap his harvest, and to make his implements of war and the equipment of his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14 He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive orchards and give them to his servants. 15 He will take the tenth of your grain and of your vineyards and give it to his officers and to his servants. 16 He will take your male servants and female servants and the best of your young men and your donkeys, and put them to his work. 17 He will take the tenth of your flocks, and you shall be his slaves. 18 And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day."
