You can kind of feel that Nostr is in a competition mode right now. Before devs were just slowly taking their time to build clients but now you see the constant shilling, and talks about new features. That’s fiats griphold causing Enshittification. Inflation, which spiked during Covid is still working its way throughout the global economy. Assets are becoming intrinsic, goods, and services are increasing. The economy right now is going through a fundamentals phase where everything has to be brutally cost effective, not efficient, not functional, cost effective, companies are doing anything they can to squeeze an extra dollar out of an already squeezed orange because margins are becoming thinner, and thinner. You can see this reflected even in Nostr, before clients were shitty, and free but now clients are improving but are offering premium services more. Because reality hits everyone hard, dev time into Nostr is wasted when the devs could be building the next Grindr, or SHEIN, & make a billion dollars easily but they picked Nostr as a hobby for fun until the dev debt become too great. It’s unfortunately the way things will be until the money is fixed.
