if we're going to `philosophy` this, we're going to need to define a few terms in there. at least: - technology - dignity but maybe also: - we - respect

Also: -Human But, to answer the original question, I haven't thought about it deeply yet, but my first instincts are that, for technology to respect human dignity, it must abide by negative rights philosophy.

My first thought was that some technologies reinforce negative rights, others undermine them, while most remain neutral. Bitcoin reinforces negative rights, while fiat currencies tend to erode them. Nostr strengthens them, while Facebook weakens them. Guns, depending on their use, can either defend negative rights or violate them. Then again, Bitcoin can be used for the human trafficking commerce. Nostr can be used to spread child pornography. I'll have to think it through more, like I said. It was just my initial thought.

"Dignity" is a hand wavy term often used to refer to any subjective "good" qualities the user of the word had in mind. Let's be more specific and substitute it for the more specific "freedom". Then we have a whole body of knowledge and experience to draw from: Free Software
