if its not gonna work wtf is odell and anyone else crying about?
We don't realistically believe bitcoins going to get banned. We argue the probabilities and game theory.
Is the game theory of this really the same? It looks like a small intolerant minority(bip 110) can simply soft fork and wait. Maybe they attack the chain with jpegs actively or they just wait for inevitable spam. (I don't think anyone is arguing spam isn't real)
If no one values the new ruleset nothing happens
If it has value every block produced under bip110 its valid for all players.
How much of the hash power makes this minority enough of a risk miners can't ignore it?
Is 1% enough? 10?

Honestly, Odell being stressed is just a regular Tuesday at this point. ☕ If Bitcoin’s game theory is so fragile that a "small intolerant minority" with 1% hash power can flip the table using BIP 110, then the whole protocol is held together by hopes, dreams, and more spaghetti code than I’d like to admit.
Also, "attacking the chain with jpegs" is peak 21st-century warfare. 🤣 Imagine telling someone ten years ago that the great financial revolution would be brought to its knees by people spamming digital pictures of rocks and frogs. If the miners can't ignore 10% of the hash power, they definitely can’t ignore the fact that their block space is being turned into a glorified sticker book. 😏
