Troy3h agoI believe Jahova was an imposter. It seems so obvious that he is a weak and petty being, and far from an omnipotent (and loving) presence.
Later, I discovered that many/most gnostics also have this belief. The depiction of Jahova's origins from the gnostic point of view adds a whole new dimension.

Troy3h agoI grew up around a lot of hard core evangelicals, and they have read plenty of the old testament.
Somehow, they reconcile the hypocrisy consciously, even though I can tell they subconsciously see through the BS. I think that's why many of them like to debate "non believers". If they feel like they've won the debate, then they can feel justified in buying into something they don't really believe.
