There comes a point when the state's approach does actual damage. It's not about measuring against their standard - they have proven themselves unfaithful stewards, unworthy of having children entrusted to their care, and there's a lot your kids won't want to deal with if you don't send them there.
Then the positive side, actually teaching them, is the exciting part.
