The 2nd picture is what the ledger looks like from the outside, a perspective where you can look orthogonal to time, orthogonal to the chain and see the entire lineage up to the active utxo set. Again, this isn’t the universal ledger, it’s bitcoins ledger, but it is what the exterior of the universe must look like from the architecture of time. Hence my point, what we call ontological inside the ledger, is epistemic if you could be outside the ledger as demonstrated by Bitcoin. All we can do is recognize Bitcoin is the universe begun anew. We are the architects of Bitcoins time.
