I may not say anything, but it is what I do that truly communicates who I am. If I was today I love you, I probably wouldn’t believe it myself, so why should anyone else? The emotions of someone who either can’t articulate or simply doesn’t believe words as having meaning can never be captured. It is truely a feeling they aim to transmit through their actions and behaviours, but if the recipient is still waiting for a meaningless, valueless word that could have just as easily said “that wasn’t good enough” who can it mean anything at all. I am Dug, it may not have been diagnosed, but I may be autistic (but I’m also likely what ever Howard Roark is, 🫡🙌), and the world just has to accept that.
