If you do it in warmer months, a potluck at a park pavilion works. Book the pavilion so it's yours. Let the people you love be part of it - don't let money be the reason you can't. Money doesn't deserve that much importance, even if it's Bitcoin. Reduce the cost per person, and let them come celebrate with you. But don't put on a big show just for the sake of it. Being set up for life after the wedding is important too.
