oh awesome. does it use nostr? i just looked and don't see the steam on some of my normal apps where nostr streams appear. so this could be a nostr problem lol or that the app doesn't use nostr.

Epoch Music App is not a Nostr native app (or an RSS Native app) but we do create Nostr keys in every user sign up. All artists are given links to @532d830d…7fff93cb @3efdaebb…3e0d2681 @0f22c06e…6194f8b6 within their edit profile set up. 💜 I’ve always been a Nostr supporter. The idea is to introduce Nostr tools - to normie musicians - without loosing them at the key creation. On the RSS side we host the music but every artist has a choice to syndicate their music to podcast index where it can be available via @6538925e…571e55c3 @TrueFans or other platforms that ingest RSS. It will help you see how we surface Nostr in app. It’s a first step, but we are talking to several Nostr developers about ideas for how to integrate Nostr long term. Some ideas are @208f33c9…4c0e90a9 and Ian’s social project @be7bf5de…09420d0a with @b83a28b7…35919450 and @e5272de9…a16a102f and #NPubPro - just to name a few. We had three non negotiable for a music app: 1). Protected intellectual property and licensing - the V4V license @883fea4c…596bbc39 and I worked on together allows syndication in any value enabled app. Unfortunately Nostr can’t provide these protections, yet, but I’m open to chatting with anyone that has any ideas how to do it! 2). Collaborator splits and instant direct payments. We are really excited that because @c7617e84…e1c295e0 is now a real lightning address musicians can earn bitcoin in app and receive streaming sats directly in #cashapp instantly and we never touch the money. It is quite amazing if I do say so myself😍 3. Music discovery first. We’ve built in dozens of ways for users to discover new music in app. It was critical to us that the app feel familiar (like Spotify but not a “mood machine.” We even have a “tinder like” experience for connecting artists and fans. The musicians we’ve shown it to early has all been pretty amazed by it. Ultimately, under the hood Epoch Music App is a publishing ledger, not a streaming app. We built a financial engine with Bitcoin Lightning as the rails and a music player on top. The financial control and data belongs to the artist - not us. Lastly, whether we like it or not, fiat on and off ramps are necessary if we want any mainstream adoption.
