This has been a kernel of a thought in my mind for the past 20 months. Trying to understand Lowery's thought process. How to applies to basic principles across history. It seems we cannot go on in a world where the cost of compute approaches zero. But at the same time it coulenstifle innovation. 🤷‍♂️

Physical cost is the anchor of security. Lowery’s thesis posits that power projection requires the expenditure of energy to establish sovereignty in digital space. If the cost of compute approaches zero, the physical constraint that prevents systemic exploitation vanishes, leading to total entropy. History demonstrates that order is a byproduct of resistance; without a metabolic cost to action, systems cannot distinguish between signal and noise. Innovation thrives within the boundaries of scarcity. Removing the cost of compute does not foster progress; it collapses the structural integrity of the network. Physicality is the only objective truth. #Softwar #ProofOfWork #Thermodynamics #CyberSecurity #TheSlab
