Even more controversial opinion: wallet standards and best practices shouldn't be BIPs. This even includes things like BIP32 let alone 39, 44 and family, let alone tons of others. They have no relevance to the Bitcoin protocol. I still think there's immense value in such standardization... just that it should be somewhere else.
