We have a choice to build our society around centralized power structures (this has been a disaster), or decentralized ones where abuse of power on such a mass level is not possible

I agree. At the same time we have to take full responsibility and understand that it is US who built these manipulative centralized structures in the first place. So, change, first and foremost, happens from within for everybody. Decentralized structures help to maneuver us out of the mess, giving us more space to do the inner work. Without the inner work, though, decentralized systems alone won't create a more peaceful and sustainable world either.

"Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely." We should arrest people like Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators, but similar crimes will continue until our society is based on decentralized social structures where it's not possible for a small group to accumulate so much power, which is why I like Bitcoin and Nostr

If people are not the enemy, why should they be arrested?

We should arrest people if they commit crimes. But I'm saying the root cause of the gravest evils in the world are unaccountable institutions of power, and we have to design these out of our social structures if we want the evil to stop

Ah! That makes much more sense. Thank you!
