Just went through something similar. Had some USDC on the polygon network sitting in metamask from when i started in "crypto", but didnt have enough pol to send it anywhere else. Long story short, had to move a small bit of btc to kraken, swapped for pol, sent pol to metamask, usdc back to kraken, and finally swapped for btc. I drank the koolaid when starting in crypto, but now, of course, Im #BTC only. THIS IS WHY WE DONT SHITCOIN!!
