A new GrapheneOS user recently complained that after installation, “the system is inconvenient and empty.”
This is a huge advantage, not a disadvantage.
I am grateful that for the past ~12-13 years I have been Linux-only (with KDE Plasma) and “FOSS first,” and that this has shaped my worldview on how software should be and how it should not be.
I have configured GrapheneOS myself, and configured it in such a way that no one else would ever configure it for me, and that if the system came with a bunch of pre-installed software, it would take me longer to remove everything.
Starting with the keyboard and ending with the settings for Brave, the launcher, and even how the main menu behaves when I double-tap the screen and when I simply swipe to open the main menu.
Yes, down to the smallest details. 😌
