hah! i'm looking in the mirror on this one... and basically thanking lucky stars that no one listened to me ever to buy bitcoin at 100,000 plus. my friends and family are impervious to whatever scams i fall into. they have started just started excusing my brash bitcoin statements as unpleasant behaviors of a gambling addict. meanwhile, i do use bitcoin to pay rent: super convenient & efficient for that. i also use it to buy gas at Sheetz, groceries at Walmart. i've even used bitcoin to top up a bounced checking account on a saturday instantly... this would have taken three days at normal bank speeds and probably some 30$ fees: i sold bitcoin on cashapp on a saturday & hit "transfer instantly" to my checking account. bounced checking account be gone. at the speed of a click also, i now manage someone else's lightning account on my own self hosted Alby. I feel like a banker, but it's so much better than a normal bank. they are getting satoshis+ instant settlement on their phone. if my customer wants to check out of the lightning network, i can just flash their balance onto a SatsCard and they can keep their key under their mattress. going to a bank teller and getting a lollipop is fading into the rearview mirror.
