My question is, for those willing to run a lightning node and use a self-custodial wallet, is there any upside to using a spark wallet? #asknostr
Obviously the downside to spark is one has to trust that others will not collude to steal funds.

Cykros6h agoSpark avoids needing to manage channels and liquidity.
If you're willing to do that though I don't see much benefit to Spark. It's a reasonable enough onboarding tool or way to get payments you don't have enough liquidity for on self managed Lightning, but it is a sovereignty trade off.
