Bip-110 will pollute the utxo set. Nodes being run by plebs is less about hard drive space which large op returns bloat and more about ram which multiple spam transactions bloat. A pleb who can’t run a node because their disk is full can at least run a pruned node, one who has to upgrade entirely because of lack of ram is screwed. Luke has expressed his views on state authority. Anyone running his software should be aware of them. The fact that this proposal is presented as an emergency is clearly bullshit and should make any normal person skeptical.

Agree that upgrading a ssd and upgrading ram are both expensive propositions for some….and pruning, while less than ideal, is a solution for limited storage. I interested more in your first statement…how exactly does bip-110 “pollute the utxo set” a stated? My research would suggest the opposite. Was the utxo set more polluted or less polluted prior to these changes (pre taproot?)

And @04c915da…3dfbecc9 zapping the reply….are you agreeing on the technical aspects of the argument or just signaling the shitting on luke and his approach? I’m interested in the technicals, not the personalities and egos. The future of sound money doesn’t care about egos or grudges. Does bip-110 pollute the utxo set and if so, how?
