Lots of regular folks can't pull together $200 for an emergency. So to them it's almost offensive to suggest spending on magical internet money. The key to coaxing them into it is to develop an exit system for the ways in which they are trapped. If we have a network of free food distribution from community gardens, then they worry less about feeding their families. If we have a time banking system to let them pay for services by volunteering, then they worry less about needing extra money to make ends meet. Now they have some extra room in their budget and are more open to Bitcoin as a solution because we've built trust by providing additional solutions as well. This did originally start as a Bitcoin meetup 🤣

Thank you, it's been really fun bringing so many different groups together. The way people's eyes light up when they start to complain about something and someone across the room shouts, "but we fixed that!" And a previously unknown solution is learned... It's the best 🥰 I still get a LOT of eye rolls and pushback about Bitcoin, but now that there's already so much momentum in the time banking, mesh networks, and the table at the farmer's market... People are starting to ask about it of their own initiative. Tomorrow is only our 4th meeting 🥰😁🥰
