Chill day in Dubai. I decided to give Claude the day off, he has been working his lil circuits off nonstop… he deserved a spa day (or at least a nap in the cloud ☁️).

Did you travel o UAE for the tax fraud or for the child sex trafficking? Or just to take selfies on a rented boat and make your stupid friends think you're rich and evil for fun?

I’m sorry you feel the need to hurl baseless accusations, but let me supply you with some facts rather than your juvenile assumptions. Many expatriates in the UAE relocate here simply for a better quality of life, access to stable jobs, safety, good schools, impeccably clean streets free from widespread crime, and genuine opportunities that aren’t available back home. People from countries like Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Philippines and many more often have limited options due to political instability, economic hardship, ongoing conflict, or lack of prospects. Not everyone is fortunate enough to hold an American, Canadian, Australian, or European passport that opens doors worldwide; for many, the UAE stands out as one of the few reliable safe havens or pathways to secure employment and a fresh start. For example, many Russians have relocated here after their businesses faced severe disruption from international sanctions and severed trade routes following geopolitical events. Supply chains collapsed, international partnerships were cut off, and operating in Russia became incredibly challenging for companies reliant on global clients or Western ties. While many were able to stay and adapt in Russia, others had loyal foreign clients who depended on them, they cared not just to keep food on their own families’ tables, but to fulfill a deeper responsibility: ensuring the livelihoods of the employees and teams who worked for them, whose families in turn relied on those jobs for survival. These entrepreneurs didn’t abandon ship lightly; they made significant personal sacrifices, uprooting themselves to rebuild in the UAE, establishing new trade routes and operations in a business-friendly environment so they could continue delivering for their clients without disruption and keep paying their staff. They did not once ask for favors or handouts, they simply adapted, incorporated new companies, relocated operations, and contributed through hard work and initiative, turning adversity into sustained opportunity. Beyond work and rebuilding, families move here for international schools offering top-tier curricula (British, American, IB, and more) with high standards, often surpassing what’s available in their home countries. The UAE’s streets are among the safest and cleanest globally, with extremely low crime rates, allowing people (this is a huge thing for women) to walk alone at night without fear, enjoy spotless public spaces, and raise children in true security, far removed from the dangers many have fled. Contrary to your simplistic and derogatory view, but not all residents here are dodging taxes or involved in illicit schemes, far from it. A large share of the workforce includes migrant laborers from South Asia, the Philippines, and Africa who come for honest wages in construction, hospitality, or domestic roles, enduring long hours to send remittances home to families in impoverished or war-affected areas. Many here live modestly, often without cars, relying on efficient public transport like buses and the metro, no rented yachts or flashy displays in sight. The UAE’s economy benefits enormously from this diverse talent and labor pool, driving innovation and stability worldwide, not some imagined conspiracy of evasion or vice. If your goal is to provoke with stereotypes, perhaps take time to learn about real global migration drivers and the determination of people who rebuild their lives here. The world is far more nuanced and people far more resilient than your narrow assumptions allow. If you really feel this way, show your face, otherwise I feel you are expressing unfortunate insecurities.
