personally don’t think October 7th was a wise move, with much more harm than good, but there is much truth in what it uncovered as presented here 📝 e47aae96…

May be true, but the important point is that it was inevitable. No one was coming to save them, so something had to be done to set everything in motion.

Perhaps - oppression eventually needs an outlet. I’d push back on something had to be done though. Consider the treaty of Hudaybiya, while not an exact parallel, despite being unfair and unjust, allowed Medina years of stable growth and for the message of Islam to spread. The treaty required Muslims to be sent back to the Quraysh (despite being persecuted) if they tried to make Hijra to Medina. Many were left in limbo, and caused Quraysh problems as a result but that only worked out favourably in the context of the accord being in place. Without the accord, all could have been held complicit - including women and children.

it was actually a genius move. before October 7th, even before Hamas, Palestine was constantly losing ground, slowly, to settlers, to corrupt politicians, to emigration, to starvation. And the whole world forgot about Palestine, the Arab states happily signed onto the Abraham accords, Saudi was normalizing, Turkey found a trade partner. Everyone was happy to see Palestine quietly fade into the night, the plan was to replace the west bank with settlers and torment Gaza until they would leave at the first opportunity. Hamas wasnt going to accept that fate, they were not going to go quietly into the night, they were not going to let Palestine be forgotten. October 7th... Overnight they made Palestine the #1 issue in the whole world, overnight they turned the Arab plans into dust and exposed their hypocrisy, overnight they galvanized young people across the globe, how many Palestine supporters did you see before October 7th? how many were able to support it publicly?. October 7th was the wake up call, the last chance for us, to see the world for what it is. October 7th was the truth that came to shatter falsehood, narratives and propaganda. it may not have freed Palestine, but it freed the minds of people across the world. you can live on your knees or die standing up for the truth "some people die by cardiac arrest, some people die by Apache, I prefer Apache" - Rantisi (rh)
