Last week I had the privilege of visiting Nairobi, Kenya to witness firsthand the incredible proof of work being done by the local Bitcoin circular economy community.
I visited BitBiashara, one of the most inspiring Bitcoin circular economy initiatives in the country. I learned how they strategically drive adoption at the grassroots level — onboarding merchants, enabling shops to accept Bitcoin payments, and building a real peer-to-peer transactional ecosystem within their communities.
It was a pleasure meeting Rosaline, founder of BitBiashara, whose leadership and clarity of vision are pushing practical Bitcoin usage forward. I also met Fidel, founder of Bitika — an innovative BTC product that allows anyone in Kenya to buy Bitcoin instantly using their M-Pesa number and receive it directly into their Lightning wallet.
We shared great moments, laughter, and deep strategic discussions with the BitBiashara community members. I gained valuable insights into their growth models, education strategies, and long-term plans for scaling adoption.
Thank you BitBiashara and Bitika.
High signal ⚡ Bitcoin adoption in Kenya.
