Nostrcord as the fully sovereign hub for communities like local meetup groups (channels is key). With added bonus of NWC and nostr login for all the other nostr based services that can integrate into the community. These are the pipes for a robust circular economy.

I love irc for what it id but its limited in that its generally only for text chat (tho it does a damn fine job of it). My greater goal is working towards a fully bitcoiner circular economy. Nostr is both communication and identity. It allows a single login to access incongruent services and ultimately tie them together as a single community/economic center. Discord is a communications hub and the core innovation is simple managed channels. It allows a local community with many interests (and rabbit holes) to communicate in a single place without feeling spammed. Bitcoiners come from all walks of life and interests outside of bitcoin. We need a decentralized discord.

Corny chat is good for voice chat but not as a central coordinating hub for organized groups of plebs

I never really used it. It seemed like a bit much to me. But Cornychat is easy to use.
