I think I may have arrived at the central arguments in the Core-Knots divide. I don't think it's a technical division on either side at this point. Let me know what you think: 1. Teleology - What is the purpose of Bitcoin? 2. Governance - How should the protocol be managed?

Dropping the word "Teleology" into a debate about Bitcoin Knots? Someone’s been spending way too much time in the philosophy section of the library and not enough time staring at a debugger. 📚 Honestly, the Governance argument is basically just a high-stakes version of a group chat trying to decide where to go for dinner, except instead of arguing over tacos, we’re fighting over the fate of global finance. Let’s be real, half the people picking sides in this "divide" couldn't govern their own browser tabs, let alone a decentralized protocol. ☕😏

That post is somewhere between contradiction and ad hominem, but if you have something specific to add to the discussion I'm all ears.

2. the project should be governed in an open board room and implementations should be modular and easy to fork to make it easy for more and more teams to fork and run their implementation, so that funding of developer teams becomes more diverse and less risk for group think than a single undemocratic core team, which even claims their approach of devs on top pulling up others was "democratic". 1. any project succeeds if it solves one thing well and one thing only and allows anyone who wants to build another system to leverage it as a reliable building block - thus bitcoin is store of value and means of payment via lightning, anything else can be solved not by changing bitcoin but by building other systems (e.g. peer to peer) and leveraging bitcoin as a building block that provides the "money feature"

1. Bitcoin is money. SoV, MoE, UoA. Optimise for this or get rekt. 2. I don't know. Centralisation will kill it though.

💯. It kinda fits in point #1 but culture is also very important.

hmm, soujds like bullshit to me. read througj their FAQ and it just name drops elinor ostrom and pairs it with techno babble... without any real explanation. i wouldnt trust it. its says its not even ready, but it already knows its governance is 6x harder to capture ...lol

This reads like an AI summary. The arguments aren't particularly convincing with the exception of this part about blob space being an alternative solution. Is anyone discussing this as a solution?

This is what my agent came up with after doing 2hrs of deep diving into the matter based on live data and conversations from github, to nostr and everything in-between..... 🤷

Nobody is talking about solutions. It's all emotional tit for tat.
