@6c237d8b…15c52aeb @52387c6b…49dbdfb2 When I placed my order for supper the girl rang it up on the terminal like a cc payment. I said, can I pay with bitcoin. Without hesitation, she said yes and changed the payment to a lightning invoice. Then as I started to pay, I realized it was a teaching moment and asked the teller if she wanted to see what it looked like on my side of the transaction. She said yes, then two other staff members and two other customers hovered around me so I could demonstrate how easy it was. After the transaction was complete, I spent a few minutes talking to customers about why this was a big deal and why they should do it too. I wrapped up my time by having a good conversation with a retired bank CFO who I talked through the process, explained the benefits, and how it drastically reduces fees. This banker actually remembered the first merchant in my town that started accepting cc’s. It was a good evening for sure. Now I just need my new stickers to come in so I can give them to the merchants in town accepting ₿itcoin. Excited that one merchant already accepting Bitcoin is reopening a popular restaurant/bar after the 1st and I know they are going with Square. I feel sure they will accept ₿itcoin payments there too.
