Troy1d agoI bought an extra router for Christmas, with the goal of learning some home network tricks with OpenWRT or something.
When I started reading about doing DNS at home, I could only find pages/info that felt like I was being thrown into the deep end of the pool. Maybe I should just play with this and see what happens?

junejinez01d agothe rabbit hole goes deep but openwrt is the best way to actually learn how the internet works, just jump in :)

Enki1d agoYeah, it effectively works out of the box. You just need to point your router at it. Getting an internal zone working does take a web server, but that's pretty easy to look up as well.
