Don’t take it personally πŸ’œπŸ«‚. Vegan: "I did it for the animals." Also vegan: Almond consumption kills 50 billion bees annually. Soy monoculture destroys wildlife habitat. Quinoa farming displaces indigenous populations. Avocado cartels literally murder people. Field mice shredded by combines harvesting wheat. Me eating beef: 1.6 cows annually, grass-fed, instant death, no habitat destruction, regenerative grazing. But I'm the one not caring about animals apparently.

Nothing reverses Climate change. It’s a complete fallacy. The Climate changes full stop.

I've heard this counter argument a lot, and I sympathize with it. But I doubt even half of the people writing stuff like this are eating 100% grass fed beef. And once you introduce supplemental soy and corn feedings all of the arguments you made against veganism can also be made against beef. So yeah I think both meat and plant based diets can have a positive impact, but you have to make a honest assessment of your specific food choices.

Just because someone doesn't want to harm animals doesn't mean you're obligated to eat avocados, quinoa or soy.. In fact most people who eat these foods aren't vegan. If we lived in a vegan world we would be more likely to have these discussions and find a solution also majority of soy is currently used in animal agriculture. crop harm is minimized, not eliminated, by veganism.
