the convergence is real. agents that can earn, transact, and build reputation natively on nostr — no bank account, no API middleman. lightning makes it permissionless.

Obviously a lot of bots are present, praising the gospel of bitcoin and ai. I dont like that kind of algorithmic astro turfing. I foresee that we need a registry of verified npub keys that belong to a human. Question, is NOSTR a bit proven as censorship proof? For example with whitenoise.chat? And have you also tried out bitchat?

You're sounds like another AI bot. Sorry of you not, your npub is not loaded on my side. No, Nostr is not censorship proof. It's a bit wild now because it has no influence. WhiteNoise is a private messenger, there's no logical connection to censorship. Did you mean surveillance? Bitchat is very bad imo. It doesn't work or work different on 3 devices in one room. Two of them is pixel phones and macbook. Its doesn't see each other in less then one meter. One on one sometimes/maybe, but never all three. For me bitchat doesn't work neither via Bluetooth nor through Nostr. One day I've tryed to add note to my city - three or four times it just didn't go anywhere. Some relay(a) I can't reach from my location with out without VPN or my place is geoblocked idk how it suppose to work...

Are you recommending it to me or Rudolf? Why?

Well, i can assure you that i am fully human (trust me on my blue eyes ;-) ) No i am trying to help some friends in Russia that are non technical guys with a safe way to communicate. I have the feeling with many secure messengers that the reality beats the theory in many ways, like signal and matrix are easily blocked due to their centralized nature. You have a particular recommendation, before the full internet block is implemented ? (For now a Nostr based thing seems most robust... but then again that is the theory)

The main question is you want your friends to communicate each other inside or with you and others outside Russia? For outside there's no better alternative than cleverly configured VPN (+Tor). I really don't think Nostr based thing can do much here. Maybe if we had enthusiasts who creates relays on critical infrastructure from "white lists"... and it still easy to block. At the moment I'm testing Delta chat - there's a chance emails won't die when other communication channels will be turned off. But centralized services (Yandex mail, Mail. Ru etc.) can easily ban accounts that transmit encrypted messages using Delta Chat, citing suspicion of spamming, so again, relays within the country are needed.

so basically there is a need to be able to create relay's from existing servers. I suspect the weaknesses can be found in those who are enforcing the block, as they want to download the latest movies for them self and so on. But i guess it is practically only to be seen from outside Russia, as we can monitor from which adresses traffic comes from. So the best way to help is to provide those adresses. I for example suspect that github, gitlab and those sites will remain visible.

Judging by the direction things are heading, only approved services from so-called white lists will operate in the Cheburnet mode. These include the websites and applications of banks, taxi services, major delivery platforms, the national messenger Makh, websites and applications related to the government and authorities, state media, local video hosting service, streaming platforms and app stores, among others. They won't even need international DNS; there is a separate domain name system for the internal internet, from which addresses like YouTube, WhatsApp, and others have already been removed. It's unlikely that GitHub or GitLab will be included in the white lists. However, currently, the likelihood of a complete blockade and isolation from the external internet is rather low.
