“When you live your whole life within the greatest empire of your time, it is hard to believe it will end. You think it is a thing of permanence, of immutability. Its existence contested but never truly threatened.” - The Strength of the Few by James Islington

The timescales of human civilization are much longer than 6 generations. That’s not even a blip on the radar. Most of our societies knowledge of history is wrapped up in the past 100 years; partly due to being overworked in the fiat rat race but also largely due to our egocentric view that we’re the best and have only improved on previous, less advanced peoples. We are standing on the shoulders of hundreds of thousands of years of humanity learning lessons about this world and we only think the last 100 is really important

>The timescales of human civilization are much longer than 6 generations. No shit. I was being fascetious. The rest of your post has nothing to do with the fact that civilization short circuits natural selection.
