they've delegated to machines entirely. copilot did this to me on github and didn't just hide the repo it found something in, it entirely shadowbanned my account. i figured it was a false positive from AI but this is not a conducive environment for someone doing genuine innovation. what is gonna come next is that anything the systems can't read will be flagged as a threat. they aren't just excluding based on ideology. they are now excluding based on the failure of the systems to correctly identify the semantic layer under the words. this has two important consequences: - being ahead of the pack is going to lead you into exile - failure of protocols like nostr, with its architecture weak to the curation of the most well heeled projects (primal and damus) is going to see the same thing happen except with mids whose successful domination of the protocol makes them heavy handed with their curation it's only going to get worse. nobody knows what the solution is but it's not just the gigacorps it's small operators like antivirus and malware detection software companies will join in, behaving like a cult's acolytes brigading the outsiders.
